Summer Reading- Take Part in Art @ Your Library

Join your friends for weekly art workshops and performances at the library as we celebrate a summer of creativity:

June 23, come and go between 10:00 & 2:00pm

Create art with fabric! Come by the library between 10am and 2pm and create a fabric collage to add to our summer reading quilt, or one to take home. Make a braided fabric coaster or
basket. Decorate your fabric creation with beads, sequins, ribbons and more! Thanks to the Oklahoma Arts Council and PLACES for making this event possible.

June 25, Junk Art for Teens with Bryan Dahlvang. 4pm to 6pm

Kids in 5th grade and up are invited to join Oklahoma artist Bryan Dahlvang in the creation of junk sculpture using a variety of objects. Bryan will provide the stuff...you provide the creativity. Thanks to The Oklahoma Arts Council and PLACES for making this event possible.

June 30, 2 workshop times: 10am and 11:30am

Kids aged 7 and up are invited to attend a drawing workshop with artist Dana Helms as she shares her upside-down drawing technique. Dana will do two workshops;choose to come at 10am or 11:30am to learn this
fascinating technique. There will also be a drawing project for younger kids during the same time frames, so the whole family is invited! These workshops are available thanks to the support of PLACES and the Oklahoma Arts Council.

Preschool Music & Movement
First Wednesday of each month

Preschoolers and their grownups are invited to the library the first Wednesday of each month to explore music and movement with Miss Bonnie. Children will experiment with a variety of musical intruments, and use their imagination as they are introduced to different musical styles. Call the library for additional information.

Be Creative!
Tuesdays in June and July

Summer Reading is coming in June! The theme this year encompasses all aspects of creativity: visual arts, music, dance, theatre, poetry and more. This year we will partner with the
Piedmont Library and Cultural Events Society to present weekly creativity workshops for kids, teens and adults. Look for detail here, and in the Piedmont Gazette. Call the library for additional information.
